About the Camp
Nestled in the serene woods and rolling hills of Deer Lake, Pennsylvania, this iconic site was established in the 1970s as a private retreat where Muhammad Ali could train with focus, discipline, and peace — far from the distractions of fame and the public eye.

Natural Beauty – Surrounded by mountains and nature, the camp offered the perfect environment for reflection and intense preparation.
Authentic Facilities – Featuring Ali’s original boxing ring, training areas, and team accommodations, the camp remains a powerful reminder of his extraordinary dedication.
Legendary Work Ethic – Ali’s days were defined by grueling workouts, road runs through the hills, and relentless sparring sessions — a true testament to his pursuit of greatness.
We will review, learn about, practice, and implement parts of his training regimen with the goal for each of us of becoming a better person. Part of our purpose at the Martial Strength Training Academy is to strive to be better each day through our training and social interactions.

Pad Holding with Coach Mike
Focus mitts are a great tool to develop accuracy and proper mechanics in boxing, kickboxing and MMA. If used wrong, they can be dangerous and also develop poor habits. Each group of 2 attendees must have a pair of focus mitts to attend. Focus mitts are available at the MSTA shop. We encourage everyone to have their own pair for future training. This 2 hour workshop will focus on the fundamentals of holding focus mitts. Class will includes positioning, combinations and drills to get the most out of your pad work for sport, self defense and fitness.
