Jun Fan Gung Fu - Jeet Kune Do (JKD)


Bruce Lee’s Chinese name is Lee Jun Fan. Jun Fan Gung Fu translates to Bruce Lee’s Gung Fu. Bruce Lee was a student of the science of self-defense. Bruce Lee began researching various fighting styles after studying Wing Chun and Tai Chi to include northern Praying Mantis, Southern Praying Mantis, Choy Li Fut, Eagle Claw, Western Boxing, Wrestling, Fencing, Judo and Jiu Jitsu.

Bruce Lee’s philosophy decades before modern day mixed martial arts was “Absorb what is useful, discard what is useless and add what is specifically your own”. The core of Jun Fan Gung Fu is kickboxing with emphasis in comfort within the ranges of kicking, punching, trapping and grappling.

Jeet Kune Do means “The way of the Intercepting fist” and is the philosophy of self-discovery and expressing the human body. Jun Fan Gung Fu is a curriculum to train the principles and concepts of JKD.

Kali also known as Arnis and Eskrima are Filipino martial arts (FMA).The names are interchangeable and represent the traditional martial arts of the Philippines. Kali emphasizes a weapon based fighting style utilizing sticks, knives, long bladed weapons and various improvised weapons. Kali is one of the most comprehensive fighting styles with battle proven methods used during conflict.

Filipino martial arts concentrate on the ability to fight with weapons or empty hands interchangeably. Weapons-training give an edge in real fights and combat, it gears students to psychologically face armed opponents, enhances coordination and allows you to be never be unarmed for any object can be picked up can be used as a weapon. Kali is considered the most advanced practical modern bladed systems in the world and is a core component of the U.S. Army's Modern Army Combative program.

Muay Thai/Thai Boxing is the national sport of Thailand. Thai Boxing uses stand-up striking along with various clinching (Muay Thai Plum) techniques. Thai Boxing is known for its physical, and mental conditioning as well as its respect and discipline Thai Boxing is referred to as “the art of eight limbs" as it combines the use of punches, elbows, knees and kicks.

Like most competitive fighting sports, Muay Thai is heavily focused on body conditioning. Muay Thai is specifically designed to promote a level of fitness required for ring competition. Class includes skill training with Thai Pads, focus mitts and heavy bags. Included is aspects of combat sports conditioning such as shadow boxing, rope jumping, body weight exercises, medicine ball exercises and abdominal exercises. This class is not for fighters and is open to all levels. You do not have to be a fighter to be in fighting shape.  Muay Thai is also a great source of skills for self defense.

JKD - Filipino Martial Arts Kali/Silat Trapping


Before his expression of JKD Bruce Lee started teaching students in Seattle modified Wing Chun. Original and modified Wing Chun techniques as well as principles can be found in JKD. Wing chun is well known for simultaneous blocking and striking, trapping, rapid vertical punches, a focus on using the shortest distance between two points and a strategy that includes controlling the center with constant forward pressure.

Kali/Silat uses empty hand strikes, off-balancing, kicks, punches, elbows, knees and nerve strikes. Specializing in close-quarter combat from a standing position, grounded, taking the attacker to the ground and using strikes, pressure points and joint locks. Kali/Silat systems are designed for multiple opponents and based from the principles of weapons.

STX Kickboxing


Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) is a combat sport which includes striking and grappling, both standing and on the ground. MMA incorporates techniques from Boxing, Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu Jiu-Jitsu,  Wrestling and other Martial Arts. 

STX Kickboxing is a hybrid striking system developed by Erik Paulson that focuses on explosive techniques in Boxing, Panantukan, Jun Fan/JKD Kickboxing, Savate, and Muay Thai (Thai & Dutch methods). 

No Gi Grappling - Combat Submission Wrestling (CSW)
Sensei Erik Paulson’s system (CSW) blends Judo, Freestyle Wrestling, and Greco-Roman Wrestling with techniques and submissions from Shoot Wrestling, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Sambo, and Catchascatchcan. 

CSW trains the individual to strike, clinch, takedown, and submit on the ground.


Martial Guncraft


Martial Arts are studied and practiced for many reasons; sport, fitness, culture, spirituality and self defense. Firearms should be included in the modern day personal protection aspect of Martial Arts training. This program allows Martial artists and Instructors to study with a qualified firearms instructors and learn the basic set of good marksmanship, gun handling and tactical skills, Practice will allow to imprint those skills into your subconscious and into your muscle memory before even going to the range. Specific skills learned to include drawing, shooting, retaining and disarming of handguns. Handgun safety, operation and shooting fundamentals are essential for the modern day martial artist. To learn how to defeat the weapon in the hands of a criminal you must know how the weapon works. Add the fundamentals of the handgun to your martial skill set. 

No live fire is required and there are no real firearms used in the class. We use the Shot Indicating Resetting Trigger (SIRT) Training Pistol and L.A.S.R. Laser Activated Shot Reporter. Dry Fire Lacks the recoil of real firearms but allows for practicing all the fundamentals of gunfighting.


Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu


Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a grappling-based martial art focusing on skills to control a resisting opponent. The technique of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is focused around taking an opponent down to the ground for dominant control positions from where the opponent can be rendered harmless ot submitted.
